The base is press molded from vintage glassware with a flower shaped foot. The vase is coil built from there then coated with porcelain slip before handpainting with several coats of colorful underglaze. The sgraffito lines are carved last. After the first firing additional glazes are applied to create a vibrant surface with opaque and transparent colors.
